The new shelter will help us continue the critical programme of woodland management and secure the future of coppicing at Westonbirt. The new shelter will provide cover for our coppicers which will enable them to undertake tasks in all weather and allow them to store materials and products associated with the coppice. The Contractor is required to design and build a new shelter which will be made from timber grown and milled at Westonbirt. The shelter will be similar in style to other buildings at the arboretum such as the Silkwood Barn and the Westonbirt Woodworks. The building will be of oak frame construction, traditionally built with a boarded timber roof. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs).
