This has cross-party support locally and has now been recognised by central Government. Plymouth City Council is helping to co-ordinate the development and delivery of the National Marine Park. In June 2021 the Plymouth City Council was awarded £9.58million from the National Lottery Heritage Fund - Heritage Horizon Awards - towards the development of the NMP.
