These vehicles are capable of carrying and towing heavy equipment over a wide range of terrain and can operate in shallow water. The rental market in the UK for All-Terrain Vehicles is not developed to the extent that it can be relied upon to fulfil our requirements at short notice during pollution incidents. This therefore necessitates the MCA's ownership of a small number of these vehicles.
