National surveys provide information on a range of health states and risk factors, such as smoking prevalence, adult obesity, well-being, etc. at local authority level that are useful in informing overall health and wellbeing priorities for a health and wellbeing board, council and public health team. Within an area such as Medway there can be considerable variation and to support taking a proportional approach to efforts to improve health and wellbeing it is important to understand that variation. National surveys that provide data at local authority level tend not to be designed to provide estimates for areas within a local authority. The aim of this survey is to provide within-Medway estimates of key health states and risk factors. This will be an epidemiological survey and not insights research.
