The purpose of this assessment is to provide a robust evidence base to support both WDC and EBC for their new Local Plans and specifically their economic development requirements and policies. In addition, the Councils are also seeking to develop economic strategies for their respective administrative areas that will likely consider issues such as attracting inward investment, improving the skills of the existing workforce, infrastructure constraints and opportunities, specialisations in particular employment sectors and so forth.
