Market exits can take the form of a commercial transaction between suppliers - one may buy the customer book of another for instance. They can also require direct regulatory intervention. Where this is the case Ofgem runs a competitive process to appoint an alternative supplier for customers of the failed supplier. This process is called the Supplier of Last Resort (SoLR) process.
