It consists of the 35 m x 15.5 m x 3 m Ocean Basin, a 15 m x 10 m x 0.5 m Coastal Basin, two 0.6 m wide wave flumes and various smaller teaching facilities. Since opening in 2012, it has been instrumental in the UK maintaining its world leading position in the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) sector, playing a key role in testing novel ORE devices and platforms through UK and international collaborations.
