The bridge is mitigating works to provide a river crossing for a dairy farm, allowing the existing river crossing to become a permanent route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The proposed structure is a single span steel modular panel bridge. Due to the presence of Tidal Flat Deposits, which do not provide sufficient bearing resistance for pads, piled foundations of reinforced concrete bored piles are proposed. Work on site is scheduled for commencement in summer 2021.
