This team regulates National Grid Gas Transmission under the RIIO 2 framework. National Grid Gas Transmission (NGGT) have identified that the Bacton terminal is nearing the end of its initial design life and will require investment to allow it to continue to operate into the future. An option select study is currently being undertaken to understand what options are open to the terminal operator to replace obsolete/ageing equipment and generate cost estimates for viable options. The options are expected to include typical re-development approaches such as targeted replacement, downsizing of the plant footprint and elements of a new build.
