One of the responsibilities of HEE is the organisation, management and quality assurance of postgraduate training to dentists in regulatory (General Dental Council) approved training posts across England. "Dental Foundation Training is defined as a relevant period of employment (fully funded by the NHS) during which a dental practitioner is employed under a contract of service by an approved training practice to provide a wide range of dental care and treatment" (COPDEND) UK. The ambition for a Lead Employer builds upon the recommendations that will arise from the national 'Enabling Staff Movement Programme' that is jointly led by Health Education England, NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSEI). The aim of the programme is to improve the induction and rotation process for dentists in foundation training enabling movement between NHS and non-NHS organisations to be efficient and to avoid unnecessary duplication of employment, deployment and induction processes. This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to advise prospective providers of the Commissioners intention. We also plan to hold a Market Engagement session on Thursday 4th November 2021 from 3-5pm to share more information with organisations interested in potential opportunity. The event will provide an opportunity for to find out more about the aims of the tender, the process that we anticipate following, general discussion and an opportunity to network.
