The research activity would need to be coordinated in order to ensure that it met the big asks of informing: - ongoing response/recovery, - what the new normal would look like, in a way that is compatible with the YCS vision, and - preparations for any future crises. In order to do that, the research needs to capture and utilise: - effects of the crisis on children and young people, staff, organisation, regime, relationships etc; - responses to the crisis, including innovations; and - effects of those responses. And it needs to be done in a way that is conscious of changes over time.
