This is to be achieved by surveying vehicles at selected sites to record information on vehicle registration marks with accompanying images of the vehicles being observed in traffic, which are then referenced against relevant official vehicle record databases. The information collected will be used by DfT and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) for a variety of statistical purposes.
