The framework agreement is required to provide the Authority and potentially all local (Isle of Wight) schools, parish councils and local charities with a safe and cost effective service for the inspection and maintenance of fire extinguishers and fire blankets in all its buildings and establishments, and the supply of any such new and replacement equipment, as necessary. The aim of implementing a framework agreement is to achieve value for money for public funded authorities as well as local schools and charities.
