Delivery of a City Centre heat network is a key item of the Sunderland "City Plan",and aligns with the Council's ambition to be 'carbon neutral' by 2030 having declared a climate emergency. Having previously benefited from HNDU funding for Phase 1 and 2 feasibility studies the Council, with the assistance of further HNDU funding, is now in a position to commission Detailed Project Development and Green Book compliant business case. Sunderland City Council are therefore tendering the required work in two lots; Lot 1 - Techno Techonomic, Lot 2 - Legal, with a requirement for collaborative working between the two lots.
