This contract has been awarded in line with Regulation 32, (2), (b) (ii) of the Public Contract Regulations 2015 (as amended). It is not considered practical or economic to source fuel separately from undertaking the air drop that is required in 2020/2021 for this exercise. ALCI have an arrangement to carry fuel on the Russian Antarctic Programme's icebreaker from Cape Town to their operating hub at Novo Blue Ice runway.
