The aim of the national Total Pancreatectomy and Autotransplant network was to provide the highest quality of care to patients with severe chronic pancreatitis which has proved refractory to medical and endoscopic management or in whom previous surgery has proved ineffective. The service scope will include: detailed assessment, surgery and long-term follow-up at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months and at yearly intervals thereafter.
