The purpose of the CCTV installation is to deter criminal activity in Market Hill and its vicinity and provide evidence for the police in the event of offences being committed. ### CCTV technical/deployment requirements The following specifications are required: - 24hr day/night capability; - Colour recording; - Ease of use - captured data must be capable of rapid review. - Data must be available to council staff; - Data is retained for a minimum of 14 days; - Remote access to the data by the police; - All cameras will be mounted at fixed sites and should not be deployed in a way that impinges of the privacy of residents living in the area; - Coverage as shown in the attached map; - Market Hill is designated as a Heritage Area and camera design must reflect this. - The location of cameras should minimise the risk of them being damaged; - The system will not be subject to live monitoring. ### Consultation on specification Councillors and Council staff will be available to discuss the specification. Meetings can be arranged in September/October ### Tendering process Tenders should include: - Proposed technical specification of proposed system; - The cost of equipment and installation; - Details of equipment warranty; - The cost of ongoing serving of the system; - Details of previous installations that can be viewed by FTC; - Estimate of installation time.
