It is a single tier authority and provides a wide range of services to its residents - including housing and education. The Council has, for approximately 20 years, outsourced IT provision to an external provider. For the past 10 years, this has been Capita. From January 2020 the Council has insourced this service. A SIAM model is being used to allow it to take a multi-vendor approach to deliver its IT provision along with a core in-house service.
