Defra is currently developing a National Food Strategy for England. Its scope is likely to include the nutritional content of diets, the environmental impacts of food production and the affordability of a healthy sustainable diet. New robust and detailed evidence is needed on how the consumption of different foods are likely to change in an evolving policy landscape.
