The existing play area needs to be removed by the contractors and a replacement put in place which will encompass and facilitate play for children aged 5 - 8 years. The play area needs to include swinging, spinning, climbing, sliding, springing, balancing and jumping and should facilitate imaginative, physical, social, role and deep play. Following consultation which has been undertaken within the local area, the top pieces of equipment were swings, roundabout, multi play climbing unit and stepping stones. The surfacing will need to be replaced with a suitable cover of either eco bond, tiger mulch or wet pour. ECDC would like plastic, durable materials to be used and envisage a bright, fun place for children to use and play.
