The laboratories will cover technical activities within optics, bio-optics, molecular biology, chemistry, radiology, electronics, and electrical and mechanical engineering. In addition to the laboratory-based work, the National Centre for Healthcare Photonics will also include a design and manufacturing capability incorporating optical, illumination, mechanical, and electronics elements, for which capabilities are required for analysing, testing, evaluating validating electronic systems with optical components. In particular, this capability includes PCB and microprobe station, voltage/current amplifiers, digital lock-in amplifier, tracking spectrum analyser and digital delay line generator.
