Opening in 2020,the UKBIC delivers on the UK's Industrial Strategy's 'Future of Mobility' Grand Challenge. It fills a strategic gap in the UK - facilitating scale up to high volume processes for battery materials,cells,modules and packs 2 / 4 primarily for the automotive sector but with wider application. The planned cell production lines will be used to develop and prove materials, cell designs, manufacturing processes and parameters 'at rate' prior to full plant investments.
