Each property provides 4 self-contained Flats over two floors, with a communal entrance, lobby and stairwell. Each Flat consists of 3 bedrooms, a shared WC, shared shower, a kitchen and a lounge. The properties were built to provide nursing accommodation for the main Bethlem Hospital site, however at present only South House presently provides staff accommodation; it is proposed to refurbish both Middle and North House to provide new Flats for discharged patients on a temporary basis. The Flats will be managed by an external housing association. This will enable to freeing up of hospital beds within the Trust's Wards and reduce pressure over the winter period and generally.
