This data will be used to provide an overview of the health of the High Streets/town centres with respect to both national and regional comparators, as well as with regards to the other towns in Central Bedfordshire. The primary purpose of the benchmarking is for it to form part of the evidence base that will highlight challenges and opportunities facing each individual town's High Street. This will in turn support and steer the development of future projects that could be developed for both internal and external funding, as well as helping to inform project evaluation of regeneration projects carried out previously. The contract will include the option for the Council, if it deems it necessary to do so, to repeat the benchmarking at a future date through extension of this contract, this is anticipated to be 18 months after completion of the first report. Questions asked together with the response, will be made available to all tenderers, to ensure a fair and consistent approach to all.
