The Council currently collect around 25,000 tonnes of co-mingled recycling at kerbside each year which is then processed at the Council's MRF prior to the resulting product (approx. 18000 tonnes) being delivered to a Contractor for further processing and subsequent sale. The main objective of the contract is to divert waste away from landfill and to improve the Council's National Indicator "NI192" performance. The contract is required to start approximately 01st February 2020 and will run for a fixed period of two years until 31st January 2022 with the option to extend for an additional two year period.
