The overall task is broken down into five stages, as outlined below. This task takes the outcome of the Options Report in Stage 1 and implements the procurement strategy and trial design developed in Stage 2 Phase 1: Stage 1. Discover - understand the technology solutions available and relevant to the needs of Highways England. Produce an Options Report. Stage 2. Develop - develop a modular solutions model for the various structures deployed on the network or test site for prototype testing. (Note: this is broken into two phases to provide an investment decision point between preparing a trial design and delivering the trial). Stage 3. Demonstrate - deploy a trial system operating at sample sites and undertake performance measurement over a 12-month period across 2 pilot schemes and present findings for consideration. Stage 4. Deliver - undertake full product approval trials/documentation and acceptance testing. Stage 5.
