Minimum requirements: - A Subsonic Wind Tunnel needs to operate in an area of 9.5m X 10m - The tunnel must be open-circuit suction wind tunnel and designed to suit safe operation in educational environment - The proposed tunnel must be capable of conducting various aerodynamics experiments - Minimum Working section: 300 mm x 300 mm, and 600 mm long - Variable and controlled Air velocity ranging from 0 to 35 m.s-1 - Maximum Noise levels at full speed ideally to be in the range of: 80 dB(A) at operators ear level - Operating electrical supply (three phase) to be: 380 VAC to 440 VAC 50 Hz/60 Hz (16 A) - The construction materials used must comply with the latest European Union/UK safety directives - For ease and safety of use the Wind tunnel controls should be mounted on a separate, free-standing instrument frame - The full wind tunnel assembly must be mobile. Ideally on braked wheels - The wind tunnel must be capable of demonstrating experiments such as a lift and drag balance with a set of three-dimensional models for experiments in aerodynamic drag along with other requirements set out in the tender document suite.
