The Council believes that the reasons for the use of this procedure have been met due to the paucity of registered nursing homes in borough, and indeed nationally. Currently there are only 2 nursing homes registered by the Care Quality Commission in borough that is, this one and another, which is presently not in position to deliver this provision. The contract will deliver Intermediate specialist nursing care services. Access to and the efficacy of, Intermediate nursing care provision is reliant on community health professionals, within a multi-disciplinary team.
