The SDC will benefit Southampton and its surrounding area by fundamentally reducing HGV vehicle movements, helping to cut congestion, improve air quality and provide a delivery service which will help SCC achieve the aims and objectives of the local plan for NO2 compliance submitted to JAQU in January 2019 (non-charging Clean Air Zone). These benefits could be achieved by the SDC providing a combination of short-term and long-term storage options, receiving goods preferably 24/7 (increasing the opportunity for night trunking and out of hours delivery) and then forwarding them to the end-users at a designated time. This will enable organisations using the SDC to reduce their level of onsite storage capacity, increase retail/office space, and have greater control over delivery times and frequencies. The desired result is a positive impact on the bottom line of the user and/or to enable a more efficient use of office/retail space, as well as to reduce the number of delivery vehicles travelling into and out of the city of Southampton. ## CPV classification Transport services (excl.
