The machine shall be of the general "conveyorised vacuum bed" type, using a combination of drag knives or driven tools to allow the cutting of various composite materials. The machine is not required to be capable of cutting honeycomb core. The machine will primarily be used for research and development activity supporting industrial applications ranging from Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 1 - 6. Application sectors will likely be, but are not limited to, aerospace, automotive, medical and marine.
