The moorings are equipped with self-logging instruments in the form of conductivity temperature and depth recorders (CTDs) and current meters. The moorings stay in the water initially for one year at a time, but for some deployments this is extended up to two years, with the attached instrumentation measuring oceanographic parameters and recording the data internally. NOC has substantial experience with deploying moored scientific equipment.
