Wet granulation can enhance flow properties of pharmaceutical powder blends. This can be particularly useful in processes such as roller compaction and tabletting where the properties of a granulated blend are more suitable for compression compared to the raw materials. However, granulation processes inevitably produce a proportion of material outside of the desired particle size range. To avoid unnecessary losses, oversize material must be put through a milling process with the objective of reducing the oversize to the desired particle size range whilst at the same time producing a minimum amount of fines. CPI requires the supply of equipment suitable for milling wet granules without adversely affecting; granule compressibility, porosity, dissolution, or active drug distribution.
