The Hartree Centre of the Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC) is entering into a tender process for the relocation of some of the existing visualisation facilities to a different building on the same campus, acquisition of replacement equipment and installation of new collaborative and development rooms at its new premises on the Daresbury Laboratories site. The newly relocated and updated visualisation facilities will complement a large investment in supercomputing capabilities at the Hartree Centre, Daresbury. In addition to large-scale visualisation these procured facilities must be capable of supporting collaborative working with partners who may have the same or significantly different resources. Connectivity between visualisation and High Performance computing for scalability and computational steering will also be an important element. The supplier will be expected to work collaboratively with Hartree (and its academic and commercial partners) to develop visualisation applications for future extreme high performance and data intensive computing systems and to enable the wider use of high performance computing technology by UK industry to enhance the UK's international competitiveness. We are looking for a partner who can supply world-leading facilities, who has the expertise to enable us to make full use of the facilities, and who is prepared to contribute to the development of Hartree activities.
