Evidence for this activity is still present today in the form of abandoned infrastructure and mine waste throughout the catchment. These sites are part of a wider network of watercourses which contribute towards the metal contamination of the river Tyne and have been taken from a prioritised list produced by the Environment Agency (EA). The services to be provided under this contract are the design and build of the appropriate preventative measures to protect the watercourses from metal contamination at each of the below sites: • Mills Vein (MV1) • Wellhope Burn (WH1 & WH2) • Garrigill Burn (GG4 & GG5) • Nattrass Gill (NG2 &NG4) Additional information: This tender is being undertaken by the Authority's eTender portal InBye, details of how to register are detailed below.
