The National Centre forms part of the overall drive to reinforce the importance of mathematics education, improve the teaching of mathematics and increase the mathematical attainment of young people. The contractor will work with and coordinate the work of the Maths Hubs network to enable all schools to implement the curricula and qualifications, and improve the quality of mathematics teaching more generally through strong leadership and a range of informed expert advice, resources, support and training. The contractor will drive the continued implementation of the Teaching for Mastery programme in primary and secondary. Prior to the release of the invitation to tender, the DfE will undertake market engagement activity for interested providers to learn more about the services, network with other providers, and input into the development of specification. Estimated Value: The total funding available for these programmes will be made clear during the procurement process, however it is estimated to cost £3m annually.
