These surveys have enabled Highways England to reduce the need for slow speed structural assessment. Highways England is to procure a next generation Structural Assessment Tool at Traffic Speed (SATTS) device to assist in the research and development of traffic speed structural surveys, to ultimately remove the requirement for slow speed surveys of structural condition. The supplier will be required: - to provide a device that measures the full deflection response of a pavement to a rolling load at traffic speed, - to undertake and satisfy acceptance testing requirements for the device, - provide training, support, annual maintenance and servicing of the measurement system of the device for up to 5 years.
