Extra care housing is primarily designed to support frail older people with onsite 24/7 staff to provide care and support. It may often be an alternative to residential care for people who can manage an independent tenancy with support. Tenants will typically be 65+ with care and/or support needs, although we are developing our extra care housing to incorporate a preventative function in supporting people whose care needs are likely to increase over the coming years.
