Under the provisions laid out in the Public Health (Control of Diseases) Act 1984 the Council has a duty to make the funeral arrangements for persons deceased in their area when no suitable arrangements are being made. The Council may recover from the deceased's estate expenses incurred for making the necessary funeral arrangements.
