The Council acts as land owner, steward, regulator, commissioner of services and influencer on wider management practices; it has a variety of statutory duties together with a social responsibility to manage the estate efficiently for the population and wider economy of Cornwall. The assets have a range of community and commercial uses and increasingly they are being used for a range of private commercial businesses. The stewardship of these assets by the Council entails significant costs and liabilities and the Council wishes to explore the commercial potential of these assets. The Council wishes to explore options for securing additional benefits and income streams.
