It is a requirement under Part 3 (sections 52-59) of the Children and Families Act 2014 for local authorities to provide mediation services for parents and carers of children and young people with additional needs and/or disabilities. Families must have the offer of mediation before appealing to tribunal. This contract is for an initial period of two years, with an option to extend for a further period of up to 24 months.
