Criteria for membership of the scheme is to be aged sixty or over and to be living alone in their own home, (including sheltered housing), or to be living in a family home but with significant time spent alone, leading to social isolation. The service must include a meal, arrange companion and an activity, while staff and volunteers can check on them and refer them to other services if needed.
