The number of orders expected per year will be c. 350k. The material type, delivery format and image quality required, determines the sales channel the customer must use, and each system/workflow has its own business rules, although the core services provided are the same. One system is integrated with, via defined interfaces, the Library's strategic systems to register; discover holdings; get customer data; pricing information, access rights and take payment/send invoices. Other systems/workflows are free-standing, or data is created manually. This creates a disparate user experience, restricts the Library's ability to attract new business and increases the cost of ownership. The Library is therefore seeking to replace these systems, with a real-time, unified multi-user data driven Order Fulfilment system, to manage orders from a sales enquiry, through to payment and delivery. Hence this RFI is intended to identify how products in the market place can help us do this. We need to know what technologies/services might be suitable and what the likely costs of their implementation might be.
