This diffractometer must be capable of rapid data collection from the wide diversity of materials studied by TUoS researchers - both small bulk pieces (pellets, off-cuts etc.) and powdered specimens of ceramics, cements and refractories, metals and glasses. We then require the ability to perform a range of additional specialised techniques on powdered specimens: PDF analyses, and in situ / operando experiments using high pressure, low temperature or electrochemical coin and/or pouch cells during charge/discharge.
