The service is collectively referred to as 'Specialised Transport' and includes the two service areas of Special Needs Education and Disability (SEND) and Adult Social Care. The Council provides specialist passenger transport for a range of client groups, including but not limited to: • SEND students travelling from home to school both in Derbyshire and out of county; • Post 16 years SEND students to colleges, both in Derbyshire and neighbouring counties; • Behaviour Support students attending Alternative Provision courses; • High dependency students with complex and/or challenging needs; • Adults with learning disabilities travelling to day services; • Adults with dementia conditions travelling to day service; • Adults with physical disabilities travelling to day services. The Council's aim is to secure safe, punctual and affordable transport services, ensuring clients to reach their destination ready for learning or support.
