The majority of the requirement is for banqueting and other events, and the costs of flowers are charged to the event customer, not paid for by either House. Accordingly, the value of the contract is indicative of the value over the maximum possible four years of the contract to the contractor, and not the cost to the public purse. The range of floral requirements varies but in the norm the requirement is mostly for table or pedestal decorations.
