These devices have been selected as they are compatible with the existing infrastructure. In the event other storage arrays also prove to be compatible these would be considered as well. As well as the arrays, GLD required two HP C7000 Brocade fibre channel switches to replace existing hardware or compatible equivalent. In addition to the hardware requirements, the GLD also required training on the new systems to cover the differences between the IMC and SMC.
