The Council requires independent technical assurance on aspects of these projects, including transport model assurance, design assurance, safety review, major planning application comments, project gateway review and construction costs assessments. The service is to provide advice, guidance and assurance to the Directorate and the project's governance, and to reduce risk by suggested mitigation's. Similar advice may also be required on smaller projects (less than c. £5M) from time to time.
