It has been designed to simulate the environmental (rotational) loads likely to be experienced by a tidal device offshore, thereby validating new technologies to reduce the financial risk and improve reliability for developers before full demonstration and deployment at sea. The current configuration of the test rig is not sufficient for the next testing project.
