The two Councils are among the eleven district councils within the Surrey County and together with Surrey County Council they provide local government services to over one million people. The Building Services department of Runnymede is responsible for managing the procured works contracts and services contracts for asset maintenance of both Councils. Runnymede Borough Council in partnership with Spelthorne Borough Council is seeking the services of a contractor to carry out improvement works in two shopping parades located in the Borough of Spelthorne Council that have suffered from many years of neglect which result in poor appearance thereby creating negative impression to shopper and deter interest in joining that particular retail community. The parades consist of a collection of shops, with many of them being independent stores and residential accommodation situated above the shops.
