NHS England South (South Central) will be the contracting and commissioning authority for the School Aged Immunisation service. The aim of the School Aged Immunisation service is to prevent school aged children from developing vaccine preventable childhood diseases that are associated with significant mortality and morbidity. Commissioners are looking for a provider to deliver a high quality service across Gloucestershire. The provider will be commissioned to deliver the NHS MenACWY adolescent booster, Td/IPV, HPV immunisation programmes, MMR catch up and childhood influenza for children aged 5, 6 and 7 (school years 1, 2 and 3) of sufficient quantity and quality to prevent the infections and outbreaks caused by these organisms. This means achieving high levels of coverage across England as well as within upper tier local government areas and within the context of populations with protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act 2010. The service provider will need to be adaptable to any new programmes recommended nationally. It is envisaged that the tender documentation for the re-procurement of these services will be available from February 2017, with an anticipated service commencement date for the NHS seasonal childhood influenza programme in September 2017, and the school aged immunisation programme from 1st April 2018. A separate advert will be published to alert interested parties when the tender documentation is available.
